Glad Caleb said everything so I didn’t have to watch Ravenswood.
Still can’t understand why they’re trying to make Mike and Mona happen.
We’re not people really. Our concerns are not America’s concerns. We are just here for entertainment. We’re a convenient treasure trove of limitless creativity to be pillaged, watered down, and re-purposed for White audiences and the people getting rich from bastardized stereotypes and simplified caricatures of everything we bring to the table have nothing to say when shit gets really real.
Somebody clean up all this spilled tea! It’s everywhere!
Los Angeles Police Department officers allegedly beat a man to death little more than a week before their fatal shooting of Ezell Ford, KTLA is reporting. An officer broke his hand during the incident, Cmdr. Andrew Smith, an LAPD spokesman, told the local TV station.
Roughly four blocks from where Ford was later shot and killed, Omar Abrego pulled over outside his home and was beaten, still wearing his Amtrak uniform, on Aug. 2. A preliminary coroner’s report suggested that Abrego, who had been driving erratically, was on cocaine.
According to a statement from the LAPD, the altercation occurred when Abrego “attempted to flee.” The statement continued, “The suspect sustained a laceration and a rescue ambulance was requested. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he failed to respond to treatment and was pronounced dead around 5:10 a.m.”
The Los Angeles Times reported that Abrego “suffered a severe concussion and multiple facial and body contusions.”
The death is being investigated by the police department, which noted that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office would also conduct “a comprehensive review.”
Civil rights leaders met Thursday with LAPD officials over the killing of Ford, a mentally challenged, unarmed black man.
An eyewitness to Ford’s death told HuffPost that an officer shouted “shoot him” before three shots rang out.
"14-year-old Parkview High School Freshman, Caleb Christian was concerned about the number of incidents of police abuse in the news. Still, he knew there were many good police officers in various communities, but had no way of figuring out which communities were highly rated and which were not.
So, together with his two older sisters: Parkview High School senior Ima Christian, and Gwinnett School of Math, Science, and Technology sophomore, Asha Christian, they founded a mobile app development company– Pinetart Inc., under which they created a mobile app called Five-O.
Five-O, allows citizens to enter the details of every interaction with a police officer. It also allows them to rate that officer in terms of courtesy and professionalism and provides the ability to enter a short description of what transpired. These details are captured for every county in the United States. Citizen race and age information data is also captured.
Additionally, Five-O allows citizens to store the details of each encounter with law enforcement; this provides convenient access to critical information needed for legal action or commendation.”
The black women were also murdered by police. #ferguson #mikebrown
